I’m from New Jersey, which, in the past week or two, has been absurdly hot—summer weather, though technically it’s still spring. Because of this, I’ve been spending a lot of time outside, and I’ve remembered how much water I need to drink to sustain it. Luckily, after making lemon-mint pasta, I had some leftovers, and the next morning, I made infused water. I’ve been experimenting with other fun, easy summer drinks since, and these five are my favorites.

1. Classic Lemon & Mint Infused Water

Ingredients:

  • ¼ of a lemon, juiced (save the rest in a Tupperware!)

  • 2-3 fresh mint leaves

  • Ice

  • Cold water

Instructions:

  1. Squeeze lemon juice into a glass.

  2. Use a fork to pick out the seeds.

  3. Finely rip apart the mint leaves and add to the glass.

  4. Fill with ice and water, mix, and enjoy!

2. Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup chopped strawberries

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

  • 2 cups (16 oz) water

  • ¼ cup lemon juice

  • Ice

  • Cold water

Instructions:

  1. Mash chopped strawberries in a bowl with the back of a fork.

  2. Mix with sugar and lemon juice.

  3. Pour into a larger glass. (If using a pitcher, double the recipe!)

  4. Add water and stir well.

  5. Serve over ice, and enjoy!

3. Honey Peppermint Iced Tea

Ingredients:

  • 2 peppermint tea bags

  • 1 cup (8 oz) water

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. In a small saucepan, boil water with tea bags.

  2. Remove heat when it reaches a rolling boil.

  3. Cool for 5 minutes, then add honey and stir well.

  4. Once fully cooked, transfer to a large glass and refrigerate at least 2 hours, up to a week.

  5. Serve in a fresh glass over ice.

4. Watermelon Coconut Water

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. In a glass over ice, combine juice and coconut water.

  2. Mix and enjoy!

5. Cranberry Ginger-Lime Seltzer

Ingredients:

  • 1 can ginger-lime seltzer (or half a can of each ginger and lime seltzer)

  • ½ cup cranberry juice

  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. In a glass over ice, combine seltzer and cranberry juice.

  2. Mix and enjoy!

Hopefully, these easy drinks will help you stay cool this summer! Or have fun mixing it up with anything you have on hand. Make different kinds of seltzers, juices, and teas. There are so many possibilities!
