Sweet, spicy, crispy, and creamy all in one bite, these hot honey chicken wraps are an easy way to make a restaurant-style lunch or dinner at home. Crispy chicken is tossed in homemade hot honey and wrapped in a warm tortilla with lettuce, cheese, and pickles, topped with ranch. The best part is that you can take shortcuts when you need them. Make the chicken from scratch, or use frozen chicken tenders when you want dinner ready in less than 20 minutes.

Full Recipe:

Serves: 4 wraps

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 15–20 minutes

Ingredients:

For the Crispy Chicken

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenderloins

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Cooking spray or oil

For the Hot Honey

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 1–2 teaspoons hot sauce

  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • ½ teaspoon apple cider vinegar

For the Wraps

  • 4 large flour tortillas

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese

  • ½ cup sliced pickles

  • ½ cup ranch dressing

  • Hot honey for drizzling

Instructions:

Make the Chicken

  1. Cut the chicken into strips if you are using chicken breasts.

  2. Set out three shallow bowls. Add the flour to the first bowl. Whisk the eggs in the second. In the third, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Coat each piece of chicken in flour, dip it into the egg, and then press it into the seasoned breadcrumbs until completely coated.

  4. For the air fryer: Spray both sides of the chicken lightly with cooking spray. Air fry at 400°F for approximately 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and the thickest part reaches 165°F.

  5. For the oven: Place the chicken on a lined baking sheet, lightly spray with cooking oil, and bake at 425°F for approximately 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until the chicken reaches 165°F internally.

Make the Hot Honey

  1. Add the honey, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar to a small microwave-safe bowl.

  2. Microwave for about 20 seconds, then stir until everything is combined. Taste and add additional hot sauce if you want more heat.

Assemble the Wraps

  1. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before tossing it with about half of the hot honey.

  2. Warm the tortillas for about 15 seconds in the microwave to make them easier to fold.

  3. Add shredded lettuce to the center of each tortilla, followed by cheese, pickles, crispy chicken, and ranch.

  4. Drizzle a little extra hot honey over the chicken.

  5. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, roll tightly, and slice the wrap in half.

The Shortcut Version:

Don't feel like breading chicken? Use frozen crispy chicken tenders instead. Cook them according to the package directions, toss them in the homemade hot honey, and assemble the wraps normally. You can have the entire meal ready in about 15 minutes.

There are plenty of ways to customize these wraps. Swap ranch for spicy mayo, add avocado for extra creaminess, use pepper jack if you want even more heat, or add bacon for an extra savory crunch. You can also serve the hot honey chicken without the tortilla. Add it to a salad, put it over rice, or serve the tenders on their own with ranch and extra hot honey for dipping. The combination of crispy chicken and sticky hot honey is the star either way.
