There are some classic Fourth of July dishes, such as hot dogs, coleslaw, and corn on the cob, to name a few. But if you're looking to add something new to the cookout menu, these easy and delicious recipes are perfect! They require little prepration while still bringing delicious, fresh summer flavors we all know and love.

1. Strawberry Shortcake

Nothing says summer quite like strawberries and more specifically strawberry shortcake. This delicious dessert features layers of tender cake (or flaky biscuits) topped with fresh strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream. Not only is it easy to make ahead of time, but it's just as beautiful as it is delicious! Its red and white colors make it the perfect patriotic sweet treat for any Fourth of July barbecue.

2. Street Corn Salad

Upgrade your everyday corn on the cob with this street corn salad. Inspired by Mexican elote, this salad is a delicious mix of spice, sweetness, and zest. Simply grill some corn on the cobs until char marks arise. Slice the kernels from the cob and add to a bowl. Then, toss the corn with chili power, crumbled cotija cheese, lime juice, and a creamy jalapeno dressing. The result is a bold and flavorful salad that perfectly compliments anything fresh off the grill.

3. Grilled Peaches

You're likely familiar with the different meats and vegetables you can grill. But, did you know you can grill fruits as well? This summer, take advantage of peak peach season by throwing a few on the grill. The heat caramelizes the fruit, bringing out its natural sweetness while adding a subtle smoky flavor. Once the peaches are grilled, you can add even more sugar with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of honey. Grilled peaches are an effortless dessert that will make the holiday feel extra special.

4. Mozzarella and Veggie Kebabs

These colorful kebabs are a fresh and festive addition to any Fourth of July spread. They're easy to assemble, fun to eat, and add a bright pop of color to your table. To make these kebabs, thread cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, zucchini, bell peppers, and onions onto skewers before grilling them. Conversely, you can also leave them raw and serve them chilled with a balsamic glaze.

5. Bomb Pops

Last, but certainly not least is a treat that requires no preprataion at all. Bomb Pops! These red, white, and blue popsicles are an iconic summer snack and are a great way to cool off after an afternoon in the sun. Grab a box from the story (or make your own with juice!) and keep in a cooler for a refreshing treat. Bomb Pops are a nostaglic dessert that both kids and adults are sure to love.

Whether you're hosting a neighborhood barbecue, heading to a family cookout, or just want to feel patriotic, these festive dishes are bound to be a hit! You can also pair them with classic Fourth of July favorites---like burgers---for a complete menu that's full of summer flavor. Enjoy!
