Both cold desserts and citruses are perfect for summer, which is why there is nothing better than the English dessert of lemon posset. This dessert is not only fresh and lemony, but it's extremely light. Lemon posset is a classic British dessert that anyone can make, even if you have never baked a dessert before. And that is because there is no baking involved in this dessert. In fact, all you have to do is mix three ingredients lemon, sugar, and cream. Therefore, if you are looking for an easy dessert that can be made on a hot summer afternoon spent inside, then this is the treat for you.
Full Recipe:
Prep Time: 25 mins
Freeze Time: 3 Hours or Overnight
Serves: 6 People
Ingredients:
2 ½ Cup Heavy Cream
3/4 Granulated White Sugar
Juice of 2 Lemons
Zest of 2 Lemons
Instructions:
Begin by zesting two lemons using a lemon zester or grater. Then, cut the two lemons in half and scoop out the slices/flesh inside the lemons. Keep the lemons as they will be used as bowls later. Cut the lemon flesh into smaller pieces and pass it through a sieve using a spoon to collect the juice. Alternatively, you can use store-bought lemon juice. Pour the heavy cream, sugar, and lemon zest into a pot and heat it on low for about 10 minutes or until the mixture starts bubbling. Then take it off the heat and pour in the lemon juice. Stir. Pour the mixture through a sieve to remove the lemon zest. Finally, pour the liquid mixture into the saved lemon "bowls" and place them on a plate. Refrigerate for at least three hours.
