Love is in the air as Valentine’s Day quickly approaches! With hearts ready for love and stomachs ready for something sweet, coming up with the perfect Valentine’s dessert can be daunting. So, if you’re wondering what dessert to treat your significant other or close friends to indulge in, look no further than this easy strawberry and Nutella crepe recipe.

When it comes to Valentine's Day desserts, what can be better than strawberries and chocolate? This recipe combines Valentine’s Day's most staple ingredients and a dish from the most romantic cuisine to create an addictingly sweet dessert. The classic French thin pancake is layered with smooth and rich Nutella spread and topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. And, if you’re a little extra like me, you can dust the crêpes with powdered sugar for decoration.

These warm and gooey crêpes are great for a romantic dinner for two or a friend gathering like Galentine’s! Plus, this recipe is budget-friendly because instead of making batter from scratch, it uses pancake batter. (Sorry, French chefs!) Without further ado, let’s dive right into this short and sweet recipe for a perfect Valentine’s Day.

Full Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of pancake mix

  • 1 1/2 cups milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Fresh strawberries sliced

  • Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread

  • Can of whipped cream (Optional)

  • Powdered sugar (Optional)

Instructions:

Cooking:

  1. Grab a medium-sized bowl and add the dry and wet ingredients.

  2. Whisk the batter until smooth.

  3. Using a small or medium non-stick frying pan, heat the stove to medium-high heat.

  4. Once the pan is hot, cover the bottom with non-stick spray (butter can also work).

  5. Add about ⅛ cup of batter to the pan immediately after coating.

  6. Now for the fun part. Pick up the pan and maneuver it around until the batter coats the entire bottom.

  7. Once the bottom is coated in batter, return the pan to the stove and cook the crêpe until the edges begin to peel off the bottom of the pan.

  8. Take the crêpe off the pan and place it on a plate.

  9. Repeat until you have the desired amount of crêpes.

Assembling the Crêpes:

  1. Add a thin layer of Nutella to one side of your crêpe.

  2. Cut the strawberries into thin slices and place on one side the crêpe.

  3. Fold the crêpe in half and then into fourths. The result should be a triangle shape.

  4. Decorate your crepe with more strawberries, Nutella, a dollop of whipped cream, and powdered sugar.

  5. Enjoy!

These strawberry and Nutella crêpes will no doubt elevate your Valentine’s Day and leave you in flavor heaven. I hope you enjoy your Valentine’s Day with friends and loved ones!
